Guitarist, Dick Taylor (original Pretty Things and original Rolling Stones) has formed a new rawblues project with stunning sibling roots duo JC and Angelina Grimshaw. They are currentlytaking the Isle of Wight by storm and have recently played a knock-out gig in Belgium.
Fascinated at a young age by urban blues and early rock and roll Dick Taylor teamed up withschool friend Mick Jagger and formed a rehearsing (mainly in Dick’s parents’ back room) group, making a demo tape they named themselves Little Boy Blue and the Blue Boys, whenDick progressed to art school he met up with Keith Richards who joined the band. When theyencountered Brian Jones at the Ealing club they were recruited into Brian’s band with Dick on bass, the Rolling Stones were born…
Having a hankering to play guitar again Dick joined up with another art student, Phil May toform the Pretty Things, something that encompassed 57 years (so far).
While on a sabbatical from the Pretties Dick produced Hawkwind’s first album, as ones byCochise and Skin Alley amongst others.
In the Eighties Dick played gigs and recorded with the Mekons and was also a “Man fromUncle” in breaks from Pretty Things gigs.
When he moved to the Isle of Wight Dick became acquainted with the music scene there andwould frequently guest with J.C. and Angelina Grimshaw, something which has grown into thislatest project which has wowed every audience they have played in front of.
